Intersnack climate targets approved by SBTi

The SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) has validated our climate commitments.

Climate targets are considered ‘science-based’ if they are in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement – limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.  Having independently verified science-based targets demonstrates Intersnack's commitment to  building a sustainable economy.

Intersnack has committed to the following targets:

  • To halve our Scope 1 and 2 emissions* over the next 10 years (by 2032 vs. our 2021 baseline). This target refers to reducing absolute emissions, despite business growth and increasing sales.

  • To reduce our absolute Scope 3 emissions by 30% over the next 10 years (by 2032 vs. our 2021 baseline).

Multiple teams and colleagues across Intersnack are now developing and implementing reduction roadmaps, many of which build on our existing efforts and processes. These workstreams are centred around reducing gas consumption, increasing energy efficiency in our production facilities, investing in new technologies and transitioning to renewable sources. We will continue to optimise transport logistics, reduce manufacturing material losses and minimise packaging. We will also engage with our suppliers and farmers on efforts including implementing increasingly sustainable farming practices.

It is great to see the broad engagement, commitment and support of so many colleagues across Intersnack as we drive forward to achieve our goals.
