At Intersnack, our aim is to create positive impact, one snack at a time. Packaging plays an important role – it protects the safety and quality of our tasty products. But packaging also has an environmental footprint. That’s why we are taking action to reduce its impact and prevent it where possible from becoming waste.
Since the launch of our Packaging Pledge in 2018, we have been transforming our packaging to be more resource‑efficient and designed for recycling. Delivering this ambition requires true system change – one that can only happen through close collaboration across and within our entire value chain.
We always start by seeking ways to use less material to pack more product, eliminating unnecessary packaging while ensuring the highest standards of product quality and safety.
Our goal is to develop packaging designed for recycling in line with industry guidelines and emerging EU criteria, while keeping freshness and protection.
Because collection and sorting systems remain complex and fragmented, we work with partners such as CEFLEX or FPF FlexCollect (UK) to help strengthen and scale these systems, increase the use of high‑quality recycled materials where feasible and drive progress toward circular packaging solutions.
We set ambitious packaging targets up to 2025. We have achieved:
(results as of mid-2025)
As our Packaging Pledge concluded in 2025, we built a strong foundation for more resource‑efficient and recyclable packaging. This progress now enables us to move into the next phase of our journey — further advancing our transition to circular packaging.
Over the past year, the regulatory landscape has evolved. With the EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) becoming applicable from August 12, 2026, circular design, recyclability and material efficiency are gaining further momentum — reinforcing the steps we are taking.
We aim to reduce environmental impacts in our operations and in our supply chain and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
